The Rockledge Model Railroad Museum is the new home for the Gatsme Model Railroad Club, Inc. For 36 years, the previous home of Gatsme was in the basement of the once Fort Washington Elementary School on Madison Ave in Fort Washington, PA. In June of 2013, Gatsme lost their lease on the building and was forced to deconstruct the railroad. The members of Gatsme immediately began looking for a new home, and in April 2014 purchased the “Old Mill” in Rockledge PA.
The new building is in desperate need of repairs before the museum and model railroad can be opened to the public. However, we have already made progress cleaning out the building. We’ve also repaired the windows, cleaned up the landscape and have begun repairing the roof. Check back with us to hear about our progress. News and updates are posted here as well as our Facebook page [here].
Our plan is to complete the renovations on our building, begin the construction of our new model railroad museum, and have an Open House Event within the next year. Help us reach our goal by send us a donation, or asking about becoming a member.
